You might’ve taken the proofing a tad t...hi Lenora<br /><br />You might’ve taken the proofing a tad too far. I usually bake the loaf 24 hours later. I haven’t gone beyond that. That yeasty smell might’ve have become stronger! I don’t blame your husband. Sorry about that. I use Fleischmans active dry yeast. I have made this bread so many times, but no alcohol smells. Just the heady aroma of fresh baked bread. Hope you have better luck the next time!
